"'Cause all that really matters, all I ever need

All I'm ever after is more of You in me

All that really matters, all I ever need

All I'm ever after is more of You in me"

The lyrics that are listed above are from the song Anointing by Jesus Culture. The lyrics of this song are so powerful to me because they remind us that everything on this earth is temporary and fleeting. All that matters is where we will spend the rest of eternity after our time on Earth is up. It is easy to follow the world and live life mundanely. When we do this we tend to put Jesus on the back burner. I am guilty of this myself. When I don't go to church or spend time reading the bible it is easier for me to give in to my flesh and follow the world.

The good news is that we have a loving Heavenly Father who is waiting for us with open arms. When we fall short he is not looking down at us with anger. Instead, he wants us to run to him, confess, and turn away from our sin. For the longest time, I use to struggle with guilt. I would sin and feel so guilty that I would turn away from God. The enemy would put thoughts in my head like "No one will ever love you" "You'll never amount to anything" "God is disgusted with you". These thoughts couldn't be further from the truth. The enemy wants us to feel ashamed and turn away from God. John 10:10 ESV says that "The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy". In 1 John 1:9 we are told that "if we confess our sins, HE is faithful and just to forgive us and cleanse us from all unrighteousness".

So, when you are convicted don't turn away from God, don't let negative thoughts burry you in guilt. Instead, run to the arms of your Heavenly Father. My challenge for you today is to spend some time in God's presence. Rather it's listening to some worship music, praying, journaling, or simply sitting in silence. He wants to hear from you. Take the time out and go to him
