In the words of one of my long-time favorite Christian artists Britt Nicole "The lost get found." The lost get found is a song from one of Britt Nicole's early albums. Growing up this song was very powerful to me and even now as I'm writing this I had to pause and listen to the song again. A verse that stood out to me is
Don't let your lights go down
Don't let your fire burn out
'Cause somewhere, somebody needs a reason to believe
As Christians, we are called to make disciples. Matthew 28:19 reads "Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit." It can be easy to let our flesh get in the way. It took a while for me to feel comfortable expressing my faith openly and boldly. I was afraid of what people would say, I was afraid of rejection or being turned down. I was even fearful that I wouldn't have the right words to say. One thing I can tell you is that fear is crippling and not of God. The bible says "for God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control"(2 Timothy 1:7). 1 John 4:18 reads "There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear. For fear has to do with punishment, and whoever fears has not been perfected in love."
If you are someone who struggles with sharing your faith I urge you to reflect on this lyric: "...Somewhere somebody needs a reason to believe." You may be the only Jesus someone comes in contact with. By that I mean you may be the only reflection of Christ someone sees. Sharing your faith can simply be posting the verse of the day on your social media or texting to a friend who isn't saved. It can be going out and evangelizing. My challenge for you this week is to share your faith in some shape or form. Don' be discouraged or frightened instead pray and ask the Holy Spirit to lead you.
Thank you for the reminder!!! It’s so easy for us to forget why we are here on this earth and not share our faith. We must carry our cross every day like God called us too.❤️❤️
